Set Cell Color

This activity helps to set color to the specified cell range given.

INPUT

Cell: Specify the range of cells to which a color must be set.

CellColor: Choose a cell color from the drop down for the cell range selected.

FormatStyle: Specify if the color chosen should color only the font or only the background.

Password: Specify the password if the workbook is protected.

Sheetname: Specify the sheet name in which the cells have to be colored.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MISC

Display Name: Displays the name of the activity. You can also customize the activity name to help troubleshoot issues faster. This name will be used for logging purposes.

SkipOnError: It specifies whether to continue executing the workflow even if it throws an error. This supports only Boolean value “True or False”

True: Continues to execute the workflow irrespective of any error thrown.

False: Stops the workflow if it throws any error

Version: It specifies the version of the excel automation feature in use

OUTPUT

Result: Define a Boolean value to validate the success state of the activity. This is not a mandatory field.

The following activity illustrates on how we can use the set cell color activity to color a specific range of cells. Here we are going to color the headers of the worksheet in cornflower blue.

Example:

1. Drag and drop a get excel object activity to the workflow

2. Enter the file path of the excel file in which a worksheet has to be created.

3. Drag and drop a set cell color activity into the Get Excel object activity.

4. Click on the set cell color activity.

5.  Specify the range of the cells which has to be colored. E.g., “A1:D1”

6.  Specify the sheet name

7. Choose the color from the drop down. Here it is cornflower Blue.

8. Select the format style as background.

9. Execute the activity.

 

The bot executes the activity and colors the cell range given in cornflower blue.
